Abstract:

The application of electronic spreadsheets on micro-computers in solving routine hydrologic and hydraulic computations is suggested. In this paper, the Lotus 1-2-3 electronic spreadsheet is used to solve three sample problems. The three examples are: stochastic generation of monthly streamflows, operation study for a storage reservoir, and hydraulic computations of side channel spillways.
