Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Hydraulics and Hydrology in the Small Computer Age

Abstract:

An interactive computer model is presented which provides graphical displays of alternative generation patterns for an integrated hydroelectric and thermal system. The method for analyzing the monthly generation capacity levels and energy for groups of hydroelectric and thermal resources is by the use of load duration curves. The hydroelectric system is committed to its maximum capability to shave peaks during both onpeak and offpeak hours, while the remainder of the load is taken by thermal units in the most economical dispatch based on production costs.
