Abstract:

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District (SLD), conducted an evaluation into the effects of Federal flood control projects on St. Charles County. Questions to be addressed included: can the effects of levees be analyzed by comparing different flood crests at the St. Louis gage, what are the effects of Federal reservoirs and what are the effects of the Corps levee raises? This paper discusses the last two questions. Subjects covered include reservoir modeling, levee development, and flood plain modeling.
