Abstract:

Reliability engineering concepts are substantially developed and have been routinely and successfully applied to the evaluation of electrical and mechanical components. However, these concepts have not been widely applied in the evaluation of water distribution system components. This paper presents reliability evaluation concepts applicable to the pumping and piping components. Time-to-failure and time-to-repair data ae used to develop simplified techniques for the evaluation of component reliability.
