Abstract:

This paper provides a brief review of typical waterhammer problems and their solutions for pumping systems. Alternative approaches to identify and resolve design problems are discussed. Several case studies representative of common municipal pumping systems are presented to demonstrate the effective waterhammer analysis and practical implementation of waterhammer protection.
