Abstract:

One of the important aspects of planned weather modification in the United States is that many operational, non-experimental cloud seeding projects have occurred since 1950. Further, several have occurred in the southern Great Plains. Valid meteorological and statistical means exist to assess these projects, given they have sufficiently long operation and good records. Such assessments can help indicate whether the desired modification has occurred, and also help improve our knowledge of cloud seeding techniques.
