Abstract:

Beginning in 1974, a new, concerted effort was undertaken by the Federal government, in cooperation with various High Plains states - including Texas - and local entities, to gain a better understanding of the behavior of clouds following the application of cloud-seeding techniques on convective cloud types common to the High Plains. This ambitious program of research and development is known as the 'High Plains Cooperative Program,' or HIPLEX.
