Abstract:

In the event of a spill of toxic material reaching the main stem of the Potomac River, predictive information regarding its location and concentration would aid in the minimization of its effects on water utilities, industry and the environment. Useful tools for providing that information are developed as a time of travel and dispersion model and a wave travel model. The models may be applied to actual or practice situations, and may be used to provide information for other purposes.
