Water System Model Brought Improvements in System Performance

by Darrell K. Stapleton, Thompson & Litton Inc, Wise, VA, USA,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Computer Applications in Water Resources

Abstract:

Analysis of the hydraulic conditions of a multi-pressure zone water system serving portions of two counties in a mountainous region of Southwest Virginia was performed using computerized modeling techniques. The model was calibrated by performing selected system operations tests. Problems revealed in the calibration process led to system improvements resulting in savings in both operation and maintenance costs.
