Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Computer Applications in Water Resources

Abstract:

The Ohio Capability Analysis Program (OCAP) is a computer-based natural resources information system (CNRIS) operated since 1973 by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The three basic purposes of this paper are: (1) to classify applications of OCAP to water and related land resources planning and management, (2) to briefly describe how these applications have used OCAP data bases and software programs, and, most importantly, (3) to document the importance of classifying users and applications of state-operated CNRIS in the light of today's fiscal restraints.
