Seismic Capacity Evaluation of SRC Buildings

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Effects of Damage and Redundancy on Structural Performance

Abstract:

The Japanese standard for seismic capacity evaluation of existing composite steel and reinforced concrete (SRC) buildings was introduced. As it developed, based on the previously established evaluation standards for existing reinforced concrete (RC) buildings, the emphasis was placed on its comparison with RC. As an example, this evaluation method was applied to old buildings, for which some structural testing was performed when they were demolished. The evaluation method was further discussed in the light of the testing.
