Abstract:

Completion of the MBTA's 3. 2 mile Red Line Rapid Transit Extension is scheduled for 1985. When completed, the seven year 574 million project will add three new stations to the Red Line. Harvard Station, the Red Line terminus since 1912, is being totally rebuilt. A 2000-car parking garage being constructed at the new Alewife Terminal will become the first major park-ride facility in the northwest corridor.
