Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Hydraulics and Hydrology in the Small Computer Age

Abstract:

A detailed review of the literature reveals that there is currently no universally accepted definition or measure of reliability for water distribution networks. The purpose of this paper is to present a brief review of various techniques for reliability analysis that could be applicable to the design and analysis of water distribution networks. Also, a discussion is given of the much needed research to develop new methodologies for the optimal-reliability based design of water distribution networks.
