Abstract:
Leaders of five consulting civil engineering firms, which are considered among the best managed, discuss management strategies. In all cases, carefully selected personnel is considered the primary asset. Teamwork and consensus style decisionmaking are emphasized. Those interviewed stressed the importance of demanding quality work and a commitment to service. Carefully constrolled growth is also a factor.
