Abstract:

Directional drilling for offshore Arctic pipeline construction offers essentially year-round construction performance capability. The most readily acknowledged alternate candidate construction methods are identified. The advantages and disadvantages of each are discussed. In conclusion, the technical issues which justify further consideration of the proposed technique for Arctic application are summarized.
