Abstract:

More and more of the time of the engineer involved in the design and construction of a pipeline project is devoted to problems relating to the control systems to operate and monitor the pipeline project. The papers included in this publication cover practical aspects of this phase of the engineering effort in pipeline projects. Topics covered include pipeline pressure surges, pipeline leak detection, automatic controls for pipelines, pipeline security systems, computer based control systems for pipelines, and slurry pipeline control systems.
