Abstract:

The physical and mathematical aspects of this problem are highly nonlinear and material-property relationships extend beyond the scope of standard geotechnical engineering. The potential contributions offered by each component must be synthesized to render a meaningful solution. Some of the issues that must be faced when using these models to analyze or design the behavior of a containment area composed of dredged materials are addressed.
