Abstract:

In this approach, the soil is idealized as a nonlinear Winkler model for a pile group attached to a group of piles. The model can account for pile-soil-pile interaction. Pile group responses are compared with those obtained idealizing the soil as an elastic continuous medium. The reponses are also compared with a full-scale field load test.
