Abstract:

The question faced by many consultants and constructors as they plan for the future is: Should we specialize or diversify in order to survive, grow and prosper? This paper proposes that many firms have found that the process of strategic planning offers a satisfying answer to this question. The eight steps in that process are highlighted, along with several actual cases on either end of the question.
