by Rita Robison, Assoc. Ed.;Serial Information: Civil Engineering—ASCE, 1984, Vol. 54, Issue 5, Pg. 64-66
Document Type: Feature article
Abstract:
Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete (ACI 318-83) is discussed in terms of three major changes: limitations on chlorides, especially in aggregates, that affect durability; simplification of calculations for the direct design method for slabs; and extension of earthquake provisions to regions not previously covered. Earthquake provisions appear in the totally-rewritten Appendix A. A summary of the changes in each chapter is included.
