by Fred W. Hays, Frank Moolin & Associates Inc, Anchorage, AK, USA,Part of: Cold Regions Construction: A State of the Practice Report
Abstract:
Quality Assurance for cold regions construction begins at the design stage. Unique civil, structural, material and equipment requirements for the severe arctic environment and continuous/discontinuous permafrost conditions require that 'Quality' be built in at the beginning. This paper is general in nature. It describes the background, history and definition of Quality Assurance, presents case histories, quality concerns and lists quality problem areas related to cold regions.
