Abstract:

Since India is a developing nation urban flood control benefits which are 'negative goods' have a low priority. Recently there is an increased awareness in India in the problems of urbanization particularly with reference to the impact of urbanization on ecology and environment in a developing country. This has given rise to greater interest in urban drainage, urban water quality and related aspects. Some of the important recent developments are presented in this report. Refs.
