Abstract:

An undetected oil spill endangered the Mississippi Aquifer and the people who lived nearby. A thorough engineering analysis determined a solution. A containment procedure and recovery system regained the escaping petroleum products and guarded the water quality of the adjacent water table. This project was a 1982 OCEA Nominee.
