Abstract:

These proceedings are the papers presented during the 1982 Spring Convention of the American Society of Civil Engineers to determine how engineers can live with, manage, and limit liability. Liability problems of the individual, the organization, and project management are presented and solutions suggested. Topics discussed include the engineer in the role of an expert witness, personal liability of the government engineer, risk allocation through contract clauses, and product liability. An introduction to bonds, liens, and insurance for construction companies is also included.
