More highlights from ASCE's International Convention held in New York City this past May are presented. (See CE, 8/81 pp. 68-9, 74-5). Among the topics discussed are, the high cost of building rehabilitation, better ways to protect buildings against fires, how civil engineers can help refugees, the decline in graduate school enrollments, the future of cogeneration, and liquid CO₂ coal slurry pipelines.
