Abstract:

At ASCE's International Convention in New York City this past May, there was some lively discussion about nuclear waste disposal, the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel, the dangers of plutonium falling into the hands of the wrong people, the need for the breeder reactor, and other key issues concerning the future of nuclear power. Highlights of these discussions are reviewed, including viewpoints by French and Japanese engineers.
