Abstract:

At the ASCE New York International Convention in May, the most talked about subject was structures. Some of those described are among man's most beautiful and impressive works, as shown in this picture storyseven structures in six nations on four continents. Civil engineers from many nations attended the Convention; an accompanying editorial suggests that such meetings as this be held again, and be designed as a bridge between the technically narrow international engineering meetings and the substantively narrow international political meetings.
