Abstract:

One hundred seventy-one papers that were part of the American Society of Civil Engineer's 1981 specialty conference on water issues are included. The publication is presented in two volumes. Volume one includes papers on: residuals management in water quality control processes, on-farm irrigation, rainfall and runoff prediction, dredged material disposal, navigation channel dimensions, urban drainage and flood peak reduction, and crop irrigation with sewage effluent. Volume two covers: public information, technology transfer needs for hydrologic modeling, river erosion and sediment control, winter navigation, guidelines for cloud seeding to augment precipitation, and non-point sources of pollution. The specialty conference was sponsored by the following ASCE divisions: Environmental Engineering, Hydraulics, Irrigation and Drainage, Water Resources Planning and Management, and Waterway, Port, Coastal and ocean. Numerous figures, charts, graphs and equations are included.
