Abstract:

Basic tools and strategies for managing the design function was the focus of the Engineering Management Division's Specialty Conference. Its objective is to have each participant return to his or her job with practical applications that can be put to use right away. Real life experiences in organizations of various types and size was shared through case histories. The overall importance and role of communication to all of the key functions, including organizational interaction, motivation of personnel and overall performance was an integral part of the program.
