Abstract:
Papers from twenty-three sessions of the speciality conference on energy ports and terminals are presented. The theme of the conference was Energy, Ports, Perspective, and considerations in the water transportation and terminalling of oil, coal, and liquified gases are covered. Specific topics of discussion include energy policy issues and activities, and port siting, planning, and design. Facilities for coal terminals, oil terminals and liquified natural gas (LNG) terminals are discussed, including special categories such as floating terminals, and problems such as bridge pier protection. Papers on physical and mathematical modelling are included. Environmental and safety aspects are also covered. Many of the papers are illustrated with design charts and graphs.
