Abstract:

A brief report on ASCE's actions to encourage the regulatory reform movement in Washington. Included are the resolution as accepted by ASCE's Board of Direction, a brief overview of ASCE's Task Committee on Regulatory Reforms's recommendations to the Board and a speech made at the ASCE convention in Atlanta (October, 1979) by Representative Elliott Levitas. The major recommendation is a pilot study to determine the actual costs to construction projects of regulations to be done by Arthur Andersen and funded through the National Construction Industry Council.
