Abstract:

Articles, reports, books, data and other information relative to lifeline earthquake engineering are listed as a guide to researchers and practicing engineers. Each citation in the bibliography is accompanied with a brief annotation or abstract. The bibliography is divided into five disciplines: water and sewage, gas and liquid fuels, transportation, electrical power and communication, and seismic risk. Often, citations are classified into type of publication (structural analysis, damage report following an earthquake, test results) and topic of consideration (circuit breakers, piping, substations, transmission lines). The transportation section covers highways, bridges, railroads, mass transit, ports, harbors, and airports. As the field of lifeline earthquake engineering is relatively new, most references are recent. The bibliography was prepared by the ASCE Technical Council on Lifeline Earthquake Engineering.
