Flow Factor Line Used in Storage Calculations

by Alfred R. Pagan, (F.ASCE), Consulting Engr.; Westwood, N.J.,

Serial Information: Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1977, Vol. 103, Issue 1, Pg. 100-102

Document Type: Journal Paper

An article by the writer provided a graph called the Storage parameter curve witch could be used for arriving at a rough estimate of the attenuating effects of storage when only the peak inflow rate and the peak volume of storage are known. The paper generated some comment in the form of letters, both approving and critical, all of which were appreciated. One problem seemed to be the limitation on drainage basin size which was not printed in the magazine. It was properly pointed out that the curve did not seem to work well for large drainage basins.
