Abstract:
The January 1975 issue of CIVIL ENGINEERING carried an article by Bob Buehler that was critical of the National Dam Program and suggested that much public money would be misspent in execution of the program. A Corps of Army Engineer man who has been working on the project defends the program and the Corps' activities in carrying out the intent of P.L. 92-367 which established the Program. This article defends and explains the Inspection Program, says rigid criteria were not intended, that individual circumstances at dams will be considered.
