Pressurized Tubes Constrained by Rigid Collars

The influence of unbonded rigid collars on the otherwise uniform expansion of long pressurized cylindrical tubes is examined in detail for the general case where the collar length is prescribed arbitrarily. Previous work on this problem has been restricted to special cases which do not present the complete description of the total interaction problem. The purpose of this note is to extend previous work to include consideration of collar lengths not previously considered and to present a complete description of the influence of unbonded, rigid collars of arbitrary length on pressurized cylindrical tubes.
