Serial Information: Transportation Engineering Journal of ASCE, 1971, Vol. 97, Issue 1, Pg. 83-104

Document Type: Journal Paper

The use of surface wave measurements in evaluating a pavement system for studying performance, maintenance and establishing construction control is described. The experimental procedure also is described. The theoretical basis for interpreting the experimental data is reviewed. Available information is used to show the use of the wave propagation method in the practice of pavement engineering. The advantages and limitations of the method are analyzed.
