Horizontal Two-Dimensional Density Current

The flow in the region of entrainment for a two dimensional horizontal density current was examined and was compared with that of the hydraulic jump, it has been shown that the depth of flow in the region where entrainment has dropped to negligible proportions is uniform and is dependent on the inflowing densimetric Froude Number. The data are presented giving the upstream and downstream depths of flow and the shape of the region of entrainment as a function of the Inlet Densimetric Froude Number.
