Three different methods of determining control points with second-order photogrammetric instruments have been examined. The practical uses of these methods are illustrated and analyzed. The procedure is given as well as the required mathematical theory, emphasizing the working equation as well as its derivations. These methods were compared and evaluated, and the resulting conclusions, as well as practical use and a general economy of the methods, are given.
