Serial Information: Journal of the Highway Division, 1964, Vol. 90, Issue 1, Pg. 19-52

The Final Report of the Committee on Pipeline Crossings, Highway Division, is a summary of current (1963) pipeline-crossing practice of state highway agencies. A series of questionnaires was submitted to each agency, with their replies presented in Tabular form. The report examines the wide divergence of state highway practice with respect to primary specifications, and analyzes the basic factors pertinent to highway requirements. Instead of a rigid specification, the committees findings of minimum standards or rational bases for design are expressed as a series of 70 guides to good practice.
