Serial Information: Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1962, Vol. 88, Issue 6, Pg. 1-13

Document Type: Journal Paper

Method facilitates photoelastic study of thin members in compression, and permits, in connection with conventional method, evaluation of influence of Poisson's ratio on stress distribution; method uses stress freezing temperature of around 130 F; application of method to problem of circular plate loaded perpendicular to its middle plane.
