Abstract:
Choice of proper contractor and contract system can control completion cost and completion time. A method to decide which tender is really economical has developed after a study of twenty-five representative tenders. In any tender, if the rates of items whose quantities are likely to vary considerably on the higher side are high the lowest tender may prove to be the most uneconomical. The method evolved nullifies this effect and gives the acceptable cost level of a tender. The criticality of any item is based on the cost thereof while deciding critical and normal activities.
