Dimensionless Advance for Level-Basin Irrigation

Graphical solutions in dimensionless form are presented for the advance of an irrigation stream in a level basin. The solutions are based on the equations of continuity and momentum under zero-inertia conditions. Advance is shown both before and after the inflow stream has been cut off. A method is also presented for determining the final distribution of infiltrated water and the maximum surface water depth.
