Abstract:
Several years ago, sediment transport experiments which required a continuous feeding of sand were started in one of the flumes of the laboratory of Fluid Mechanics at Delft, in the Netherlands. Because drying the relatively large volume of sand to be recycled was impossible at the time. The sand input system had to be capable of feeding wet sand. Both requirements have led to the choice of an elevator feeder.
