Finite Strip Analysis of Quadrilateral Plates in Bending

The semi-analytical solution of plates in bending has been developed for the analysis of rectangular or parallelogram plates. With this technique, named the finite strip method, the plate is divided into rectangular or parallelogram strips. The displacement within each strip is expressed as the summation of a series with unknown parameters that are determined by minimization of the total potential energy of the structures. The basic function of the series is chosen to satisfy the boundary conditions at the two ends of the strip.
