Abstract: Coastal Zone ’91 is the seventh in a series of biennial multidisciplinary symposia on comprehensive coastal and ocean management. The papers included in this proceedings review technical knowledge and current practice for the improvement of planning, environmental considerations, design, development, and conservation actions related to coasts, wetlands, and oceans. These topics are addressed from different points of view: engineering and science; data gathering, and monitoring; legal, regulatory, and political aspects of coastal management; planning, conservation, and development; and public information and citizen participation. This proceedings will help to diffuse technical knowledge and current practice for the improvement of planning, design, development and conservation actions relating to our coasts and oceans.
