This proceedings consists of papers presented at the Waterpower ’97 specialty conference. This international conference on hydropower was held in Atlanta, Georgia, August 5-8, 1997. It covers a wide range of topics pertaining to hydropower—from aquatic habitats to water quality. Volume I of the proceedings discusses such issues as: 1) aquatic habitats; 2) civil works; 3) dam stabilization; 4) economics and finances; 5) environmental issues; 6) fisheries; and 7) generators, electrical systems and controls. The second volume explores hydraulic design; licensing; performance testing; privatization; project case studies; and recreation. Finally, Volume III presents papers on rehabilitation; research and development; reservoir systems; restructuring; risk analysis; turbines; and water quality. |
