Abstract:

The Santa Ana River Mainstem Project consists of seven major features including the construction of 550 ft. high earth and rockf ill dam; raising the embankment by 28 feet of Prado Dam, the only dam presently on the river; widening and deepening the 23 miles river channel between Prado Dam and the Pacific Ocean outlet in Orange County; creating a water holding reservoir on Santiago Creek and widening and deepening three major flood channels, Oak Street Drain in Riverside County and San Timoteo Creek and Mill Creek Levees in San Bernardino County.
