Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: North American Water and Environment Congress & Destructive Water

Abstract:

Nine ha of spring wheat were sprinkle irrigated with drainwater from 15 subsurface drains. The objective was to demonstrate that use of drainwater for irrigation improves the net efficiency of water use on an irrigated field and that the practice serves as a BMP for controlling nonpoint source flow from irrigated agriculture. The water quality implications are discussed in a companion paper.
