Juvenile Fish Separator Design

by Daniel M. Katz, (A.M.ASCE),

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: North American Water and Environment Congress & Destructive Water

Abstract:

Separation by size of downstream migrant juvenile salmonids at hydroelectric projects in the Columbia River basin is an integral part of transportation and bypass programs. However, separation is not yet well understood from the standpoints of either hydraulics or fish behavior. A development process to improve the function of juvenile fish separation is presented.
