MAC3D: Multiblock Numerical Model for Hydraulic Applications

by Robert S. Bernard, US Army Engineer Waterways, Experiment Station, Vicksburg, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Hydraulic Engineering

Abstract:

The MAC3D computer code is a three-dimensional numerical model for incompressible flow. To enhance geometric flexibility, it uses multiblock grids, which are composite structured grids assembled from one or more curvilinear blocks (subgrids). Flow options include k-? turbulence modeling and temperature-driven buoyancy. The code is applicable for internal flow in general and free-surface flow at low Froude number.
